Granny and the Salmon of Knowledge
Live Puppet Show with puppeteer Carmel Balfe
The Show is a current-day account of the folktale The Salmon of Knowledge where granny has
discovered that the Salmon of Knowledge is living in her local river and she is out to catch it, sure
fishing can’t be that hard!
Presented by Little Gem Puppets who are family friendly and have met
thousands of children. Their shows are very interactive with a strong emphasis on storytelling.
The puppets are curious and colourful and they do love to meet new people. Seen in festivals,
theatres, libraries, museums, arts centres and beyond. No two shows are ever the same because
every audience arrives with their own version of the story to share with the puppets.
Suitable for all ages

Pulling Strings – Eugene Lambert (2004)
A documentary by Damien Farrell
Eugene Lambert entertained Irish audiences all his life. Three generations of Lamberts
entertained children week in, week out, in their puppet theatre in Monkstown, Co Dublin. But
family businesses can be difficult and the business of puppetry is no exception. In this
documentary, Eugene, his wife Mai and their family talk candidly about pushing buttons and
pulling strings.
